“In Lebanon, a rapist is exonerated if they marries their victim” Article 522 of the Lebanese penal code. Yet only 1% of the population knew about it. My role was to expose this law by raising awareness and then abolish article 522. We launched a video on social media and national television. As well as organized a series of PR stunts. All claiming that “A white dress cannot cover the rape“. We reached more than 4 million people in less than 24 hours, [making article 522 the trendiest subject] Parliament felt pressure, through our consistant fights. We abolished article 522.
